Spitzer Stadium Dedication – Come Join Us!

Join us TONIGHT as the Comets take on Berea-Midpark in our brand-new Spitzer Stadium! The evening will begin with a special dedication ceremony at 6:40 p.m., just before kickoff. We are grateful for our partnership with Spitzer Chevy in Amherst, whose support has made this exciting new chapter possible for our students, athletes, and community.

Arrive early to allow time for parking, finding your seat, and exploring the new stadium. The Amherst Quarterback Club will have Comet Corner set up so you can stock up on spirit gear for the season. From the Marching Comets’ pregame performance to the first snap under the Friday night lights, it’s a night you won’t want to miss at Spitzer Stadium!

JVS Transportation Notice – September 19

Safety Drill -JVS Transporation

On Friday, September 19, there will be no school for Amherst School District students; however, JVS classes will still be in session. Transportation for JVS students will continue as usual, with our two JVS buses running in the morning and afternoon from and to Steele. JVS buses will leave Steele High School at 7:10 am going out to JVS and the buses will return to Steele from JVS between 2:40 pm-2:45 pm.

Due to the safety drill, regular route buses will not be available to bring students to Steele in the morning to transfer to the JVS buses or return them to their neighborhood bus stops in the afternoon. Transportation staff and buses will be participating in the safety drill. Therefore, JVS students will need to be dropped off and picked up directly at Steele on September 19.

If you have any questions, please contact the Transportation Office at 440-988-2633.

Support the Amherst Schools Educational Foundation (ASEF) September 18!

On September 18th, join the Community Foundation of Lorain County’s Connect to a Cause giving day at peoplewhocare.org.

All donations to ASEF go directly toward supporting our Comets — providing scholarships for graduating seniors (The Class of 2025 received $76,450!) and funding for educational opportunities such as our Creative Learning Centers, New Comet Corner, and more.

With your generosity, ASEF can continue to open doors for our students as they prepare for college, careers, and beyond.
