While we are disappointed that Issue 16 did not pass, we want to thank every resident who took the time to learn about the issue and vote. We respect the results and will now focus on developing a plan to move forward.
In the coming weeks, the Board of Education and district leadership will review our financial outlook and determine necessary reductions for the next school year. Once a plan is developed, it will be reviewed and approved by the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.
Our commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility remains strong. Together, we will continue to put students first and uphold our shared vision of A Community of Excellence.

Our elementary and junior high students have been busy learning, creating, and showing what it means to be a Comet!
At Powers Elementary, Mrs. Norris’s first graders showed off their Superpowers during lunch, earning the Golden Spatula Award! Meanwhile, third graders learned about the recent full moon and created their own moonlit landscape art.
At Nord Elementary, Miss Maria’s fourth graders dove into learning with EdPuzzle and a fun partner activity!
At Amherst Junior High, 6th graders had fun with their Mesopotamian mud brick project, making and testing their own creations, and celebrated their Comet Champions for the month!
Way to go, Comets — keep up the amazing work!
