Nord Puzzle Club Buddies Making a Difference |
"Like the pieces of a puzzle, we gather together to build friendships that feel like family--because we all fit together!" - Puzzle Club Buddies Mission Statement |
The Nord Puzzle Club Buddies launched this school year under the guidance of Ms. Susan Hershiser and Miss Rachael Maria. What began with 15 members quickly grew to 23, with about 20 students regularly attending meetings. Each gathering begins with music, social time, and a snack before students work together to complete a variety of puzzles.
Beyond their meetings, the club has made a meaningful impact in the community—marching in the Miracle on Main Street parade, donating wrapped gifts and handmade cards to Amherst Manor residents during the holidays, and most recently partnering with local organizations to showcase their work.
The club recently gifted puzzles to the Amherst Police Department and to Superintendent Molnar for display at the Board of Education. Be sure to keep an eye out for more of their work around the community!

Steele Jazz Band Students Experience a fun Day of Jazz |
Steele Jazz Band I, under the direction of Angela Cresap, recently experienced an unforgettable day at the Tri-C JazzFest DownBeat Education Day, held on the Tri-C campus in downtown Cleveland.
From the moment they arrived, students were immersed in the world of jazz. They had the incredible opportunity to learn from the legendary Count Basie Orchestra, who served as guest artists in residence. Members of the orchestra not only adjudicated Jazz Band I’s performance, but also led engaging workshops on improvisation and shared their expertise during a live performance.
One of the most memorable moments of the day came when Steele students were invited to join the orchestra on stage for the final number—an experience they won’t soon forget.
Beyond the music, the day was filled with meaningful connections. Students had the chance to talk one-on-one with professional musicians, gaining valuable insight into careers in the music industry. They also explored the Cuyahoga Community College campus, learning more about its arts programs and future opportunities.
It was a day filled with inspiration, growth, and a deeper love for music—one that will resonate with our Comets for years to come.

Learning Comes to Life in Kindergarten! |
Mrs. Annabell’s kindergarten class recently had a hands-on experience exploring Colonial towns as part of their CKLA Knowledge curriculum!
Students learned about the important roles of housebuilders, weavers, and blacksmiths—and even got the chance to make their own butter!
It was a fun and engaging way for our young Comets to step back in time and bring history to life!
