Dear Comet Nation,
We hope you are staying warm during this extremely cold weather. As a major winter storm moves through the area this weekend and potentially into early next week, we will continue to monitor conditions and keep you informed. With significant snowfall, dangerous temperatures, and limited road treatment due to a regional salt shortage, travel may be hazardous. Please follow all safety precautions and exercise caution. Due to the Winter Storm Warning, Saturday evening events are being moved to earlier in the day or are being rescheduled. The Amherst Schools will not host events beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night through Monday morning.
As a result, we ask that students, staff, and community members stay off our parking lots, driveways, and sidewalks from Saturday evening through Monday morning so we can remove snow from our parking lots and sidewalks. Stay tuned to our district social media accounts, website, email, and phone notifications for updates regarding weekend activites and school on Monday.
Thank you for your continued cooperation as student safety is our top priority. Stay safe and warm. |
